HOW TO GET TO BANGKA BELITUNG

Air Transportation
There are two airports in the province, namely Depati Amir Pangkalpinang (PGK) in Bangka and H. AS. Hanandjoeddin Tanjung Pandan (TJQ) in Belitung. Some cities in Indonesia have direct flights to Bangka such as Jakarta (CGK), Palembang (PLM), and Batam (BTH) and to Belitung such as Jakarta (CGK) – while the flight from Palembang and Batam use Pangkalpinang as a transit point.

It only takes 50 minute flight from Jakarta to Pangkalpinang and only about forty five (45) minutes to Tanjung Pandan. The flight from Batam to Pangkalpinang is only about an hour and fifteen minutes, from Palembang to Pangkalpinang will take about thirty minutes.

Some people will possibly choose wrong destination because of thinking that Bangka Belitung is a name of the same one island. Some even purchase flights to Tanjung Pinang in Kepulauan Riau Province. Therefore, make sure your destination, whether to Pangkalpinang on Bangka Island or Tanjung Pandan on Belitung Island.
Nowadays, the airlines serve the route to Bangka touching down in Pangkalpinang are Garuda Indonesia, Sriwijaya Air/ Nam Air, Citilink, and Lion air/ Wings. The airlines to Belitung landing on Tanjung Pandan are Sriwijaya Air/ Nam air, Citilink, Garuda Indonesia and Lion/Wings.
